August 30 2008 - Melbourne Day

A gala Black Tie event the Melbourne Awards evening was a wonderful event held at the Town Hall. Fiona was a finalist in one of the 9 awards categories to be presented on the night. After 8 weeks or so of not really having any idea if she fit the box, Fiona Sweetman won an award for an Individual's Contribution to City Profile. Thankfully supported by 2 of our wonderful hosts - Kath, and Alex - the night was a wonderful celebration of this city, and those of us who are able to make a difference.

Thanks to all of your support, and we hope you continue to enjoy the city as much as we do.

Would you believe that its December, and the summer weather is to continue for 3 months at least!

A couple of things to get you started this weekend, is the Melbourne Design Market - held at the Federation Square car park this SUNDAY, and also a charity BBQ for cystic fybrisis research on the SUNDAY where for $50 you can have seafood and more along with plenty of champagne, beer and wine between 11 and 3, in one of my favourite city laneways... its a ticketed event, so please ring or email, and we can get a ticket for this delicious event.. sure to be a blast! fiona@hiddensecretstours.com

The festive season is well and truly on us, and the trees are up, with musical chimes and all. Please note we are already selling out of some of our tours, with much of November filling fast. Thank you to all their co-operation, and I hope to be able to continue to share the spotlight on many more in the future.

Festivals

The Fringe Festival is on, and the wonderful Speigeltent will arrive in just a few days... so now the sporting utipia is making room for other visions for a few months anyway.

We have a few projects on the go, and are finalising a product that we hope to include in the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. Also there is a intersting conference happening in Melbourne early next year, that we are to be involved in too - Eco Edge2 - check it out and perhaps even enrol...

There is also a wonderful artist who has an exhibition on at Christine - Flinders Lane; Pamela Dale, and her wonderful assemblages will be exposayed on the Sunday Arts Program on Channel 2 this weekend - 9th Sept.
