The draft "Zero Net Emissions by 2020

The City of Melbourne would like to invite you to participatein the public consultation stageof "Zero Net Emissions by 2020 - StrategyUpdate 2008". In 2002, the City of Melbourne published"Zero Net Emissions by 2020 – ARoadmap to a Climate Neutral City" which set an ambitious target of zero net emissionsfor the municipality by 2020. Since2002 however,climate science, community expectations and available solutions have changed significantly and as such the City of Melbourne hasdecided to re-examine and update thestrategy. The draft "Zero Net Emissions by 2020 - StrategyUpdate 2008" is now open for public consultation and is available to download from:

Of particular interest to us are your thoughts on the "Roadmap for Emission Reductions to 2020" scenarios presented in chapter 5. If you wish to comment on the draft report please note that feedback must be received by no later than 6pm on Thursday, 5 June
